Our Clinic

The Rosalie Children’s Centre was founded by Learn and Grow and InSync Kids OT. Our centre is a consortium of paediatric health specialists.

Our Speech Pathologists work collaboratively with the other clinicians to provide a holistic, multidisciplinary service. We believe that if families and health providers work closely together we can achieve the best possible outcomes for child growth and development.​

About

Brooke graduated from the University of Queensland and have been practicing as a paediatric speech pathologist for over 10 years. She started her career working for Education Queensland in mainstream schools, ECDPs and special schools, and has also worked in Child and Youth Mental Health Services (QLD Health) and for the Institute of Urban Indigenous Health.

In 2014, Brooke began “Learn and Grow” as a solo clinician working from her home business in Paddington. Brooke is passionate about working with children and values a multidisciplinary approach to client care.

Special interests
​Brooke has a special interest in working with early intervention and late talkers. She values a family focused approach to intervention and believes that working closely with parents is critical in providing long lasting, effective results for children’s development. She is also passionate about identifying difficulties at an early age to promote prep readiness and school success.

Since graduating from the university of Queensland in 2008, Lauren has worked predominantly in paediatric private practice. She is also a certified holistic health coach and has a special interest in the importance of nurturing physical and emotional well-being when supporting a child’s development. Lauren believes in a family focused approach that promotes parent child connection and provides parents with the tools and knowledge to support their child’s growth and development in the home environment.

Lauren has specialist training and qualifications in the following areas:

Amy Saunders

Experienced Speech Pathologist

Amy graduated from the City University of London in 2014. She spent her first years as a Speech Pathologist working for the National Health Service (NHS) managing an Early Years, Mainstream School and Complex Needs caseload. Amy is passionate about working with children and has a fun and playful nature that helps children feel comfortable and at ease.

Mercia Lewis

After graduating from the University of QLD in 2008, Mercia commenced work at CPL (previously Cerebral Palsy League) where she gained experience providing a multidisciplinary, family centred service to children diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and other developmental disabilities. Mercia has had experience with providing intervention to support speech, language, AAC, literacy, social communication and feeding difficulties. Mercia has worked extensively with children who have complex communication needs in the clinic, school and home environments. She is passionate about working collaboratively with other professionals to support children with complex communication needs across the lifespan.

Since commencing work as a Speech and Language Pathologist in 2014, Brianna has gained extensive experience working with the paediatric population within both Australia and the United Kingdom. Brianna has worked in the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK, as well as the Education Department in ECDPs, special schools and mainstream schools in North Queensland and Brisbane. Brianna began her private practise journey at Learn and Grow and enjoys working closely with families and caregivers to achieve the best possible outcomes for her clients.

Since graduating in 2011, Vicky has worked with children in both private practice and school settings. She has lived and worked in Newcastle, Midwest USA and Brisbane. Vicky was inspired to change careers and become a Speech Pathologist when her young son had severe speech difficulties and her two daughters were diagnosed with autism. Whilst raising a young family and working school hours, Vicky studied online for six years to gain a Bachelor degree in Psychology & Linguistics, followed by two years full-time study for the Master of Speech Pathology Studies. Vicky is truly passionate about how speech pathology makes a real difference in the lives of children with communication difficulties.

Rhianna Pahor

After graduating from the University of QLD in 2015, Rhianna commenced work with the department of education and training and worked as a school based Speech Pathologist in mainstream schools, special schools and ECDPs. Rhianna went on to work in the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK in 2018 where she gained extensive experience working with the early years team (aged 0-5yrs). Rhianna is passionate about working with early childhood communication development and values a family focused, child directed approach to therapy.

Nicky is our devoted practise manager who is passionate about providing an excellent standard of customer service and client care. She strives to ensure our families feel valued and are consistently satisfied with the services they receive. Nicky provides constant support for our clients and therapy team and is approachable, compassionate, friendly and a welcoming face at the clinic.
